How to Fix #DNS server not responding Error on Windows 7 8 10 | Simple & Easy

Friends here I am facing the problem. Here my internet is connected but i am unable to browse any website. So how to fixed this problem.Watch the video till the end otherwise you will not understand the topic completely.

So, to fix this problem first go to windows search and type
Control panel then go to network and internet > network and sharing centre>
And here click change adapter settings.
Or you can also type view network connection on windows search, it’s all same.

Here you have to check Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter.
If it is disable enable it.
Here i am connected through Wi-Fi.
So let’s focus on Wi-Fi adapter. You can see that it’s already enable.
Also check if there is Red Cross icon or not near the adapter.
Its look like this on my Ethernet. Here I am not using Ethernet so it’s showing me Red Cross as its network cable unplugged.

But here in my case Wi-Fi is enable and not showing Red Cross.
So Wi-Fi adapter is working perfectly fine.
So what is the issue? How to diagnose it.
For that right click on Wi-Fi adapter and click on diagnose.
Windows will take some time to diagnose the problem.

Here is the result its showing dns server is not working.

What is dns server?
dns means domain name system
dns server is just like telephone directory.
To communicate with any person we need that person name so we can find that person's phone number.
Telephone Directory
Name
Number
202 965 10001
203 965 20001
204 965 30011
91 205 965 56433
86 206 965 23456
207 965 65758
208 965 76876
209 965 32435
210 965 78867
211 965 68588
212 965 23234
213 965 97967

Telephone doesn't understand name we have to dial number of that person.
So basically telephone directory resolves person's name to his number.
We cannot remember every person’s number but can easily remember name.
So we map person names to their number.

dns server works in the same way
Computer does not understand website by name but understand ip address.
dns server has records of all the website name and its ip address.
DNS Server Records
Name
IP Address
google.com
74.125.200.100
facebook.com
157.240.13.35
ebay.com
66.135.195.175
twitter.com
104.244.42.193
yahoo.com
98.137.246.7
reddit.com
151.101.129.140
imdb.com
52.94.228.167
msn.com
13.82.28.61
bbc.com
151.101.0.81
cnn.com
151.101.65.67
nasa.gov
23.22.39.120
amazon.com
205.251.242.103

So when we type name in the browser dns server resolves name to its ip address by looking in its records.
We can’t remember ip address of every website but can remember names of that website.
So we map websites name to its ip address.
This process actually occurs at the background we can’t see it.

So I hope you understand how dns works.

Coming to our problem we have to check our dns.
For that open cmd prompt and type ipconfig /all.
Under Wi-Fi lan adapter you can find dns server ip address which is issued by my internet service provider.

Let’s ping both dns server ip addresses.
You can see that we are not getting the replies.

dns provided by isp is not working so we have to change the dns server ip address.
Apart from isp provided dns there are also open dns available.
Here are some open dns server ip address.

Open Public DNS Server
Name
IP Address
1.1.1.1
8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
8.26.56.26
9.9.9.9
64.6.65.6
13.239.157.177
91.239.100.100
185.228.168.168
77.88.8.7
156.154.70.1
198.101.242.72
176.103.130.130

You can use any of this.

Let’s configure the dns server.
For that right click on Wi-Fi adapter and click on properties. Then open ipv4 and
Below tick use the following dns server
And enter dns ip address.
Here I am using Google’s dns server 8.8.8.8 as preferred and quad 9 dns server 9.9.9.9 as alternate.
Then click ok.
Instead of changing dns on each device you can change dns on router itself.
So when device reconnects to Wi-Fi network again dns will replicate to all the device automatically.

Now open browser and starts browsing again.
You can see that now it’s working. We have fixed the issue.

nslookup is the command using it you can resolve websites to its ip address.
Let’s resolve some websites ip address.

Now let's browse the website using its ip address.
You can see its working.
